Providence Health & Services RN - Blood Management Specialist in Everett, Washington
(0.6 FTE, Day Shift) Providence is calling a Blood Management Specialist to work in our Blood Bank at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.
We are seeking a Blood Management Specialist to manage the Blood Conservation program to support the operation of 24-hour PRMCE services and be responsible for resource management, customer relations and operational standards.
In this position you will:
Collaborate with Surgical Services and the Blood Bank
Manage the PRMCE blood conservation program
Be a liaison with the Jehovah’s Witness (JW) community
Adhere to the regulatory requirements related to blood and blood products and tissue administration by nursing.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current RN licensure
Recent medical and surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Blood and tissue management experience
Knowledge and experience in blood conservation programs and JCHAO regulations
Knowledge of blood management and conservation techniques as related to surgery, chronic medical conditions and obstetrics
Knowledge of program design and development related to blood conservation and management
Knowledge for setting and maintaining standards of practice for blood conservation and management pre-operatively and intra-operatively
Knowledge of auditing standards and ensuring standards are being met
Advocacy with the JW patient-family and physician/surgeon in planning surgical or obstetrical care
Computer literacy. Able to work in Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations and prepare quality and research reports
